On Saturday, November 2nd we had our monthly meeting to celebrate National “Learn to Homebrew Day” (Yes, it’s a real thing) and did a group brew day at Lavery Brewing. Much like last year, the weather wasn’t very nice and it was cold and rainy. Nothing like having a boiling kettle or wort to keep you warm!
We have three brewers who participated, contributing 25 gallons to the national total, which at the time I am writing this is 939 gallons.
With it being our last meeting of the year, we also had our 12 Beers of Christmas exchange. Many of them are ready to drink now but some need some more conditioning time and will be all good by the holidays. I am really excited to drink these beers and see what our talented members came up with!
We also raised over $100 for the club by having a Chinese auction. Many items left over from HAZtoberfest were given away including a 50 lb bag of 2-row, a Brewer’s Best 2xIPA kit, $70 worth of gift cards, a pound of hops and misc brewing supplies. Congratulations to all the winners!
As usual when the meeting is a Lavery Brewing, we had a nice turn out. It was a great way to finish up the year as a club and have a fun, event filled meeting!
